In this video blog, I discuss the importance of having empathy as a critical leadership skill for the 21st Century while reviewing a chapter of Daniel H. Pink's "A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future". In the book, Daniel talks about how those of us who are more right-brain leaning have the creative capacity to really advance and move things forward. While the book in its entirety is a great read, I'd really like to promote a discussion on Chapter 7: Empathy in Part Two where he outlines The Six Senses that are needed to develop the whole new mind our new era demands.
In the meantime, I want to hear from you:
What role do you think empathy plays in advancing the role of equity, diversity, and inclusion in organizations?
I look forward to your responses below*, and I'd love your input.

Thank you! Empathy is an incredibly powerful and creative force that I find sadly undervalued in education and wider society. I appreciate your recommendation of A Whole New Mind. Alice,
Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate the feedback and sharing the "Neuroscience of Compassion" Ted Talk. It is very unfortunately that is it undervalued but let's do our best to at least keep it on the radar!
